Difference between Jerky & Biltong
Jerky is bold, chewy, and full of attitude – thin strips of 100% grass-fed Aussie beef, marinated in big flavours and air-dried for that savoury chew you can’t put down.
Biltong is tender, rich, and naturally beefy – thicker cuts cured the old-school way with vinegar and spices, giving you a softer, charcuterie-style bite with a tangy, savoury finish.
Nungra Nibbles perfectly blends these ingredient combinations and drying methods to create a unique and new-tasting experience!
Can’t decide? Go both ways – jerky for adventure, biltong for slow indulgence, and your taste buds get the best of both worlds.
Which flavours are hottest?
Honey Habanero Beef Jerky and Intense Soy Chilli Beef Jerky. Please also refer to our little chilli scale on each packet for guidance.
Which flavours are most popular?
All of them, of course. Garlic Pepper Beef Jerky and Hickory Brown Sugar Beef Jerky. Our release of Australia’s first and only port wine-flavoured beef jerky is also proving quite popular since its release.
Do we have an original flavour?
No, however, we do a subtle flavour combination within our Teriyaki Beef Jerky. Our Biltong range is generally more subtle in flavour and also includes Teriyaki. Due to interest, Nungra Nibbles will endeavour to incorporate an original flavour in future releases.
Storage Conditions
The shelf life of our Beef Jerky & Biltong is 12 months. The majority of our other products are also 10-12 months from processing. To maintain quality and longevity and to savour the flavour, it is best practice to consider the following food safe storage conditions to prevent premature spoilage.
Heat – Maintain storage conditions between 5-21 °C (cool room temperature). Once opened, store in an airtight container and consume within 3 days. For best results, return to room temperature before consumption.
Oxygen & Moisture – Store in a dry airtight container using the Oxygen Absorber to aid in maintaining shelf life. Do NOT eat the Oxygen Absorber.
Sunlight – Store in a dark and cool environment. Avoid direct sunlight.
To extend shelf life, our product may be frozen. Products that have been frozen must be defrosted safely for consumption and consumed within 1-2 days once defrosted. DO NOT refreeze any product that has been defrosted.
What is an Oxygen Absorber?
The oxygen absorber is the small white packet found in each bag. The packet is clearly labelled “ Do NOT Eat”; however, the contents are not harmful if accidentally consumed. The packet helps absorb any residual oxygen, helping to retard the opportunity for spoilage.
Is our Jerky & Biltong suitable for children?
Yes, they are both suitable snacks for children and a healthier alternative to other snacks such as potato chips and lollies. Please use your judgment, be careful and supervise when providing these snacks to younger children.
Soy & Gluten Free?
Great news! Our Beef Biltong range is soy and gluten free; however, our beef jerky range may contain traces of gluten in the soy sauces and spices. Please read the information provided on all prepackaged items and take advice from these separately, as they may differ.
Paleo friendly?
Yes, our jerky & biltong are perfect for Paleo diets due to the high protein content. It is a great addition to meals for those who follow this diet.
Are our products Halal?
Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee our products are Halal certified.

All product packages have an ingredient list, nutritional information panel, and Allergen information. Information is also made available on each product page of the online shop. We have a strict labelling and allergen management program in compliance with Australian Food Safe requirements.
